Terroir: Clay and limestone with very little soil. This single vineyard is located a few kilometers from Nuits Saint Georges, on a steep slope facing south/south-west, at an altitude of around 380 meters.
Grapes: Pinot Noir (100%)
Farming: Organic (not certified)
Aromatics: Pretty wine, with ripe red berries on the nose, this is a charming Pinot Noir with notes of fresh redcurrant, blackcurrant and elegant spices.
Palate: Medium bodied, ripe and balanced mouthfeel with soft tannins, more red berries on the palate with good weight, soft tannins and a long and vibrant finish.
About the wine: 0.5 hectare, 20 years old vines, classic Hautes Cotes low density, high vines trellising and wide planted. An average of 1,000 bottles are produced each year. The grapes are hand harvested, sorted and 50-100% destemmed depending on the vintage. Traditional vinification with natural yeasts fermentation, 10 days cold maceration with frequent pumping over and punching down. The wine is aged for 15 months in oak barrels with 20% new French oak barrels. Bottled with no fining and light or no filtration.
When to drink: Ready to drink now or in the next 4-5 years after vintage.
Service: 14-16 degrees, Pinot Noir glass.
Food match: Roasted white meats, game birds, charcuterie, grilled red meats.
