Aromatics: Bright red cherries, blackberries, plenty of fruit and nice earthiness.

 

Palate: Medium bodied South-West France red, filled with red berries and blackberries. Playful crunchy tannins and savoury spicy finish.

 

About the wine: Jurancon Noir is an ancient and rare red wine grape from the South-West France. Chai Saint Etienne is one of the only domaines that still grows this grape, which is s cross between Malbec and Folle Blanche. A wine produced from 50 years old vines, and made partially with carbonic vinification. Aged in stainless steel tanks. 12% alcohol wine.

 

When to drink: Now or in the next 3-4 years.

 

Service: 12-14 degrees C or slightly chilled in Summer.

 

Food match: Charcuterie platter, pizza, hard cheeses.
