Aromatics: Pretty and lifted wine, red berries, fresh and charming on the nose. I love how floral and elegant this cuvee shows, when I put my nose in the glass I put a smile on my face.
Palate: Medium bodied, soft and elegant wine filled with red berries and fresh earthy character. This is all very pretty again on the palate, 1 delicious sip calling for another one!
About the wine: 50-60 years old vines, 10,000 vines per hectare, 35 hl per hectare. An average of 6,000 bottles are produced each year. The grapes are hand harvested, sorted and destemmed, traditional vinification with natural yeasts fermentation, 6 days cold maceration. 12 days cuvaison. Aging for 12 months mostly in concrete tanks and a few old barrels. Bottled with no fining and no filtration.
When to drink: Ready to drink now or in the next 4-5 years after vintage.
Service: 14 degrees, Pinot Noir glass.
Food match: Boeuf bourguignon, roasted red meat with mushroom sauce, duck.
